Radio Verulam wants to add to its team of daytime presenters; we currently have a vacancy on weekday afternoons presenting our afternoon music sequence. You will present a live programme between 1-4 on either a Wednesday or Thursday afternoon. A regular, weekly commitment is essential.  You will prepare relevant linking material which engages our local audience to insert into our scheduled music log, give local travel and weather updates, and present in an entertaining and warm way. This is not a specialist programme and specialist music knowledge is not required.

 

Typical time needed : 4 to 8 hours most weeks

Essential skills :

A warm engaging persona
A reassuring radio voice
A knowledge of the local area and its features

This role is not suitable for those brand new to presenting or previous applicants who have been unsuccessful.

Ideally you’d have these skills but we can train you :

Some on-air experience, perhaps in community or hospital radio
An awareness of playout software such as Myriad or RCS Selector/Zetta.
An enjoyment and enhanced knowledge of radio broadcasting

You will also receive feedback and opportunities to join in with other activities at Radio Verulam such as Outside Broadcasts, music programming, and marketing, to suit your interests.
