Climate change is in the headlines every day - whether it's severe flooding, record high temperatures or melting icecaps - and it's easy to feel overwhelmed by the scale of the problem and powerless to do anything.
St.Albans Sustainability Festival is a great opportunity not just to take action or learn about how you can help, but to connect with other concerned people. Coordinated by Sustainable St.Albans and St.Albans Friends of the Earth, the Festival will run this year from 23rd May to 7th June, with all the events being run by local groups, schools, businesses etc.
You might have heard of the Sustainability Festival, or even been to one of the events, but have you considered running one?
It could be anything aimed at making our District more sustainable. In previous years there have been talks, films, seed planting, litter picks, repair events, creative displays....but the only limit is your imagination. And any local group can join in - faith groups, residents associations, businesses, scouts & guides, toddler groups, book groups, football clubs - all are invited to run an event whether it be small or ambitious, public or private. All you need to do is decide on your event, register it for free on the Festival website and your event becomes part of the biggest sustainability themed event in the region.
So do something positive for the planet and our community and register your event before 9th February.
