We are excited to be participating in a project called “Your Forest” funded by the Audio Content Fund. It will be launched on Sunday 21 March which is the International Day of Forests featuring ten Community forests around the country including our very own Heartwood Forest.
The launch programme will be included in the Local Life programme on Sunday 21st March at (8-9am and 6-7pm) and also repeated on Wednesday 24th March from 7-8pm. There will be further programmes each week until Sunday 11 April in Local Life.
The Project has a website –https://wildrumpus.org.uk/yourforest/
Clicking on the radio icons allows users to zoom into their local area of the map where they’ll be able to see a pin for the sound they’ve recorded. There they can listen to the sound and read a description about the place where it was recorded.
The project will be encouraging listeners to go to their local forests and record sounds there which will be added to the website and so be available for anyone to hear.
Thanks to Judith Parry from the Woodland Trust for the photo.
