FIRST BROADCAST : August 14, 2020 9:00 am

Join Steve Simpson on Verulam in The Morning, this Friday with his guest Keith Busfield who will be talking about the Queen Eleanor cycle ride, taking place over the August Bank Holiday weekend.

The cycle ride follows the trail of the 12 crosses marking the resting places of Queen Eleanor's body as she was carried from Lincoln to Westminster Abbey in the 13th century. Keith will tell us how people can get involved in the annual 200 mile cycle journey despite this years restrictions, and help raise money for The Connection at St Martins in The Field, a charity for homeless people.  Watch out for the team when they stop off in St Albans on Sunday evening, resting the cross they are transporting,  in the Abbey overnight.

This alongside our usual Verulam in the morning features  - Time travel, birthday quiz, local stories and much more  This Friday at 9:00 am , with Steve Simpson.
