Early Elvis Presley and even earlier Gene Autry were promised for last week's Country and Roots, but the excellent live coverage of the Food and Drink Awards carried on until 10:30. So this week there is a chance to hear that missing first 30 minutes plus an all new following 90 minutes.
There will be a couple of songs marking the death of Tom Petty, including his version of a Hank Williams classic and a tribute to the victims killed at the Country Music Festival in Las Vegas. There will also be lot of fabulous new releases, including a bluegrass version of the Bruce Springsteen song Hungry Heart by Mark Lavengood and tracks from Russell Dickerson, Brothers Osborne, Southern Halo, Lucinda Williams, Brandy Clark, Willie Watson and many more.
So for two hours of fabulous Country and Roots music, tune in at 10pm this evening.
