Community Radio Award Nominated Verulam Sport

FIRST BROADCAST : October 5, 2019 3:00 pm

Another action packed Verulam Sport Saturday 3pm-6pm

We are delighted to receive a nomination in the 'Best Sports Show Category' in the 2019 Community Radio Awards and as always are looking to deliver award winning quality radio for you. Today you will hear from friend of the show Richard Walker, Head of Communications for Watford FC. The Hornets have shipped 20 goals and are rock bottom in the Premier League and will need to get something positive out of their home fixture against Sheffield Utd today.

Of course we follow the Saints who are in FA Cup 3rd Qualification Round action today. Can the magic of the FA Cup inspire? A heavy defeat 4-0 last week and a tough encounter today against a Weymouth team who in the league also put 4 past them just 3 weeks ago. Reporting all afternoon is Michael Hill.

Plus we have regular Old Albanians updates with the OA's returning to Woolhams Park looking to get back to winning ways against rock bottom Bournemouth. We will also catch up with the action from Harpenden RFC who are looking to avoid a 4th straight defeat today.

With the high octane action of the NFL coming to London this weekend we catch up with the Hertfordshire Cheetahs American Football team and debate the ever increasing move to globalised sport. Tweet us with your views @verulamsport

All this and so much more Verulam Sport Saturday 3pm-6pm with Tony Rice, Matthew Turvey and Jason McKenna.
