We have some brilliant women is ST Albans and some brilliant restaurants. –It was a match made in heaven with Lussmans who hosted The Brilliant Breakfast to raise money for The Prince’s Trust #WomenSupportingWomen initiative. This helps support disadvantaged young women into education and careers.
Thank you to Sophie and Angela, our Loudbird PA company who do so much for St Albans and pulled this together with perfection. Leonie Kibbey was the moderator and is no stranger to organising events in our area, as the founder of the St Albans Film Festival. And what a panel of inspiring women there was! We heard from BBC news presenter Martine Croxall, our MP and Deputy leader of the Liberal Democrats – Daisy Cooper, Shelley Hayles an award-winning social worker who supports and champions people from under-represented communities, headteacher of STAGS, Margaret Chapman, Donna Nichol, independent boutique owner of Chloe James and author Angela Clarke (our roving reporter Clair is fangirling about this woman and has already bought all her books!)
They talked about how they got to where they are today and the women who helped them on the way. Thanks to Andre Lussman for being so brave in a room full of women and looking after everyone so well. £500 was raised for this great cause and if you looked in the dictionary for the word “Inspirational” this should be the at the head of the page. The words ringing out were, be brave, be authentic – be true to yourself, and never let anyone tell you no. You are capable of anything.
