Nigel Strofton is a real local sporting legend. In January of this year he turned 80 and continues to play for St Albans Hockey club and has served them for 63 years!
In September 1959 Nigel attended ‘Trials Day’ at the St Albans club because, although he played rugby at school, he didn’t have the means to travel to a local rugby club – and rugby’s loss was St Albans hockey club’s gain.
Chris Tillan from Verulam Sport, caught up with Nigel for a chat about his career, the club and his love for the game.
