Keep On Running – Alison and Amy Cowan preparing for 3 marathon runs in just 2 weeks

Date of Broadcast: October 1, 2021

Mother and daughter, Alison and Amy Cowan, join Steve Simpson on Radio Verulam 92,6 FM to share the challenge they have taken on – to run 3 marathons between them in 2 weeks  Although Alison is a seasoned runner, this will be Amy’s first and she shares her preparation, motivation, and her plan to maybe just beat mum over the line.

“Although completing 3 marathons between us seems like a tough goal (it’s Amy’s first!), running has helped us both through our own ups and downs and ultimately, it can’t be nearly as hard as the challenges faced each day by those who are struggling with their mental health. These marathons are for them! ”

Alison and Amy are running to raise £9000 for 4 local mental health charities –  Mind in Mid Herts, Hertfordshire Mind Network, Youth Talk and Ollie Foundation.  You can follow their progress on Instagram @three.4.three, or donate online https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ALISONandAMY

Radio Verulam wishes good luck to everyone running in the London Marathon this weekend.
