Volunteer Update

Hi All,

I hope you are well and enjoying the tail end of the summer.  A few things from me this week - interesting things, so make sure you read on ... 🙂

Volunteer Meeting 11 August - Thanks to all of you who attended.  We had a really good attendance rate and I hope you found the topics interesting.  Thanks to Faye, Callum and Lawrence for contributing and giving insight.  Sorry we couldn’t record it for those of you who missed it, but presentations have been shared on both the WhatsApp group and Facebook.  If you don’t have access to those, let me know and I’ll ensure that you get a copy.  The next meeting is 8 SEPTEMBER - I’ll be working on the agenda, so if you have any ideas for what you’d like to be included, drop me an email (

Communications - Our one true source of comms will always be through the RV Internal blog.  Currently we only have a weekly update, but we are looking to change this.  We can and will sign post through the WhatsApp and Facebook groups, but not ALL volunteers have access to these.  Please can you ensure that you are receiving the emails (check spam folders etc) and if you are not please let me/Nick know and we will look to see why.  The aim of this, is to ensure that EVERYONE knows what is going on.

Traffic and Travel - We still need more people to step forward to help with Traffic and Travel.  As you are aware, this is a sponsored broadcast, so we have an obligation to meet this.  We need a pool of 10-12 people (at least) to cover the 5 morning and 5 evening bulletins, to ensure that holidays/sickness/absences can be covered without putting the burden on a few people.  This is open to ALL volunteers - training will be given - so don’t worry if you don’t have presenter experience - it’s a great opportunity for anyone. If you are interested, let me know (

Another great opportunity - Promotions Champion - We have decided to create a role for a Promotions Champion, and will be posting the role shortly, but wanted to let you all know in advance.

The Promotions Champion role is all about ensuring that our events, anything we are doing well, interesting and topical stories are promoted as and where appropriate.  It will combine a number of skills including networking across all the RV volunteers, a keen eye and ear for stories/events of interest to ensure that they are promoted to a wide and varied audience, and working with the social media team to ensure that all medium is used.

If you think this sounds interesting and something you would like to be involved with, please let me know ( and I’ll set up some time to talk through.

That’s it from me this week - have a great weekend all!
