We are now starting on public recruitment for a team of presenters for St Albans Drive (4pm-7pm). The show will be in a different format than its predecessor.
If you have availability regularly from 3.30pm to 7pm on one or more weekdays, this is an opportunity to get trained quickly if you are available between 15th and 17th March. If not, please have a think about friends and colleagues or neighbours who might be interested.
The promotion will be going out on social media and other outlets this week and the closing date for applications is 10th March so be quick!
Here is roughly what will be out there:
Do you want to share your passion for our great city? Could you be one of the new voices of St Albans' evening commute? Radio Verulam is looking for new volunteer team members for "St Albans Drive" Monday to Friday 4pm to 7pm. You don't need to have any radio experience...you will receive comprehensive training and support. You just need to be available regularly on at least one weekday from 3.30pm to 7pm.
You will be joining a team of around 80 volunteers from across our area managed by people with radio experience and will get the chance to expand your skills over time. Maybe you have recently retired or perhaps you're looking for a new outlet after a career change. Or, you're trying to break into radio. Maybe you're none of these things but this sound like a new and exciting thing to try.
We're running training on the evening of Friday 15th March and on 16th and 17th March. We need you to be able to attend most of these sessions so we can get you on air.
If your availability is at other times on weekday afternoons or you just can't make the training, you can apply and we may in future consider your application further for other opportunities.
The deadline for applications is midnight on Sunday 10th March.
