Wall Paintings Revealed
St Albans Cathedral, St Albans, UK

13:00 to 17:00 Sun Sep 29th

Topics : Art, History, Technology

For the first time ever, a breathtaking light show will lift the veil of time and reveal how the Nave’s wall paintings may have looked in all their medieval glory. Eight hundred years have taken a toll on the medieval wall paintings in the Nave and a key part of our Alban, Britain’s First Saint project has been painstaking research into their history, in the hopes that it might be possible to present them as pilgrims in the Middle Ages might have experienced them.

Drop in between 1pm and 5pm, for a unique first look at the Wall Paintings of St Albans Cathedral revealed through unique light projections and hear from Cathedral Guides as the paintings on the south facing pillars of the nave are re-coloured before your eyes.

*From Monday 30 September, the wall paintings projections will be included in the Cathedral’s daily guided tours.
