To mark the 75th anniversary of Operation Market Garden, we are delighted to host Men of Arnhem living history group in our new exhibition hangar. They will be recreating an Arnhem parachute drop site and providing the opportunity to better understand what our brave young men might have seen, felt and experienced in the Arnhem campaign. Men of Arnhem will be on hand to answer questions and guide visitors through interactive displays of period equipment, uniforms and armoury.
Plus……get up close to our Horsa Glider, designed by Airspeed (a de Havilland Company) at Salisbury Hall. During WW2 the Horsa was built in large numbers to air-land troops with their heavier weapons behind enemy lines. The gliders were used during the opening stages of D Day-the Battle of Normandy, and during Operation Dragoon, Operation Market Garden, Operation Varsity and other operations.
The Men of Arnhem living history exhibition is free on entry to the Museum.
